Bishop Frederick Henry "Marriage, God's Delight"
At the heart of the creation stories in Genesis there is the conviction that the world is good at its very root. “God created man in his image, in the divine image he created them” [Gen.1:27] “The two of them become one body” [Gen 2:24]. The Scriptures don’t over spiritualize human beings, but to the contrary, show how delighted God is with creation in all it s physical expressions, how attentive God is to the human longing inscribed in his creatures by their sexual natures.
A native of London, Ontario, Bishop Frederick Bernard Henry was born on April 11, 1943, the eldest of five sons in the family of Leo and Noreen Henry. After finishing high school, he entered St. Peter’s Seminary, London. He became a priest on May 25, 1968. In 1971, he earned a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, and in 1973 a Licentiate in Theology with a Specialization in Fundamental Theology from the Gregorian University in Rome. He was an Associate Professor of Theology and Philosophy at St. Peter’s Seminary from 1973-1986 and Dean of Theology and Rector of St. Peter’s Seminary from 1981-1986. In addition, Frederick Henry was involved as a Catholic Engaged Encounter Priest from 1980 - 1989. He was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of London and Titular bishop of Carinola and ordained the Episcopate on June 24, 1986. He was installed as the fourth Bishop of Thunder Bay on May 1, 1995 and installed as the seventh Bishop of Calgary on March 19, 1998.

Sandy Prather "Spirituality in Marriage"
Giving Skin To God: From Theory to Reality – Living the Beauty, Vision and Challenge of Sacramental Marriage.
The Church’s teaching on marriage is not esoteric, theological theory.  It is, in reality, a beautiful, profound vision of what marriage is called to be – a sacrament of God’s love.  In this presentation, Sandy will discuss the needs she sees in working with young couples in this area and present the material she has found to be effective in communicating with them.
Sandy Prather, B. Ed, M. Th., teaches and facilitates in the areas of faith and spirituality. Sandy is the Director of the Star of the North Retreat Centre St. Albert, Alberta, a position she has held for thirteen years. In addition to being an adjunct lecturer at Newman Theological College, Sandy is involved with Oblate Associates and with a national committee on Adult Faith Education for the Canadian Catholic Bishops.  For many years, she has been a regular presenter for various marriage preparation programs in the Edmonton diocese and she and her husband Bob were active in Marriage Encounter.  Sandy and Bob are blessed with four children and seven grandchildren.
